FAQ
FAQ
Restorative dentistry is the terminology for replacing missing or damaged teeth. There are several treatments that fall under restorative dentistry but the most common treatments are fillings, crowns or caps, bridges, and implants.
At Maxwell Dental, we will take the time to go over all of the restorative treatment options that are available to you, this will mean looking at the different materials used and the different procedures for the treatments. Because we want you to be able to make informed decisions, we will give you an understanding of the pros and cons of each treatment in regards to your oral and overall health.
This is an extremely common question that we receive, and the answer is no. Buying teeth whitening strips from the drug store is not going to be detrimental to your teeth. However, as the strips fold onto your gums, you may experience some sensitivity after using them.
If you have highly sensitive gums, don’t worry, at Maxwell Dental, we can make customized whitening trays that hold whitening gel for you in order to eliminate or lessen the chance of the whitening agent getting onto your gums.

Enamel contouring is a process in which we shape the natural tooth to improve its overall appearance. This usually performed when teeth are slightly uneven and is not an invasive procedure. In general, this procedure is quick and painless and should not require any anesthesia.
