Taking Care of Your Teeth The Healthiest Way Possible
At Maxwell Dental, we have found that dental implants are truly able to enhance the quality of life for our patients. Dental implants can improve our patients’ overall health, while helping them gain the confidence that comes from a well-functioning smile that looks good and feels natural.
Why would someone get a dental implant?
Dental implants are used to as replacement teeth to replace missing roots, additionally, dental implants can help maintain the integrity of bone structure after tooth loss. If the natural tooth or teeth are no longer viable, then you and your dentist may decide that a dental implant is the right choice for you.
Is there more than one option for dental implants?
Yes. There are different materials that can be used for dental implants. At Maxwell Dental, we most commonly use zirconia, also called ceramic, dental implants.
Are dental implants long term?
Yes. Ceramic dental implants should last 20 years or more.
What is the difference between a dental implant and a dental bridge?
A dental implant is a post that is surgically positioned into the jaw bone while a dental bridge is where the artificial tooth is supported by the abutment teeth (the adjacent teeth) by an adhesive. A dental implant will look and feel like a natural tooth while the traditional bridge is multiple teeth fixed together and might not have the same natural feel.
Do dental implants look like natural teeth?
Yes. When done properly, your dental implants should look like natural and healthy teeth on either side.
"Kind and competent. I’ve learned so much about dental health and it’s impact on my physical health. Having Lyme disease and co-infections, their use of holistic dentistry is so comforting knowing I’m not being treated with harsh, unnecessary and toxic ingredients. Keep up the great work!! So thankful you’re part of my 'healing' team."
